Example SAS BI Dashboards Application
The SAS BI Dashboard is a powerful business tool which allows you to display data from single or multiple data sources in a variety of different ways. SAS BI Dashboard has great flexibility; you can create your own indicators and ranges, as well as a wide range of formatting tools to create the appearance that you wish to achieve. It also allows you to link one dashboard to another and to add external links into your display. This can be a great way to display a number of reports from monthly targets, monthly/yearly sales, or even the success of marketing campaigns. It creates reports that can be easily visualised for a quick blast of information or can be drilled into to see more detail.
Using the SAS BI Dashboard one of our consultants has produced a dashboard showing a variety of weather information that was uploaded into SAS from an online source. A scheduled SAS batch process has then been setup to keep the dashboard up to date with the most recent information.

Figure 1
The Wind Speed indicator in figure 1 shows off some of the SAS BI Dashboard attributes. An indicator has been chosen, source data selected and a range created. The wind speed range is based on the Beaufort scale, applying colours and labels to represent various wind speeds. Then various formatting options have been used to adjust the size, position, colour and font for the indicator, and to insert a title and the wind direction on to the display. Links have also been added to figure 1. By clicking on the title 'Lorton Valley Weather Information' the user is taken to the raw data from the weather station, and by clicking on the Rainfall icon they are then taken to a more detailed dashboard about rainfall (figure 2).
